Your First Visit

What to Bring to Your Appointment

  • Your insurance card
  • A photo ID
  • Your current glasses or contact lens prescription
  • A list of medications you take
  • Sunglasses for after the exam if your pupils are dilated

If you wear contacts, plan to bring a backup pair of glasses to the visit.

What to Expect

Your First Visit, Step by Step

Plan on about 60 minutes for a full comprehensive eye exam. We start with a check-in and a short intake to learn what is going on with your eyes. Dr. Angeles then runs a vision check, a refraction for your prescription, and a health check of the front and back of the eye. If we dilate your pupils, your near vision will be blurry and you will be light-sensitive for a few hours, so bring sunglasses or have a ride.
